Self-Locking, Remote-Controlled Lifting from 50 to 150 Tons
The Bossman series takes Duff Norton’s air-powered jacking technology into heavier territory with a hydraulic cylinder driven by an air/hydraulic pump. The result is higher capacity — up to 150 tons — with a feature that separates the Bossman from every conventional hydraulic jack: self-locking collars that mechanically secure the load at every quarter-inch of travel on 100- and 150-ton models (every half-inch on the 50-ton).
This is not a holding valve or a friction check. The locking collars physically engage around the cylinder, securing the load at each increment as the jack rises. When lowering, the collars disengage only while the operator holds the lowering control — release the button, and the load locks in place. No blocking. No cribbing. No guesswork about whether the load is secure.
Remote Control Operation
Every Bossman jack is operated from a safe distance using a remote control connected to the air/hydraulic power unit. The operator raises, lowers, and locks the load without standing under or beside it — addressing OSHA requirements for overhead lifting safety in mining, construction, and railroad environments. The power unit requires only 50 CFM at 90 PSI, and quick-disconnect couplers make setup and breakdown fast.
